About the Garden:

Thornton House garden is back with a bang this bank holiday weekend!

This large and varied garden has something for every guest, with the top of the garden showcasing traditional English blooms. Don’t miss the botanical art studio by the entrance, where the artist in residence has been preparing her finest work for you to discover.

Visit the established Japanese garden features beautiful Japanese Maples and traditional stone lanterns and statues. Continue on past well-kept beds, fruit trees, and a vegetable plot. Then venture past a friendly group of chickens who have plenty to say from their sunny shelter.

Once you’ve been delighted by the formal garden, keep going – there’s more! This garden is on the edge of Hartley Woods and has adopted the spirit of woodland plant life. The last section is a beautiful glade that is a haven for wildlife and visitors alike.

Parking: Public parking is available on Gorsewood road. Please be respectful of local residents.

Accessibility: Access to top of the garden only. There are a small amount of steps to reach the art studio.

Please note: This event is not suitable for dogs.

Refreshments available, and a tombola.

Tickets will be available to purchase on the day.
