With three sold out December events, we’re excited to welcome supporters back into the hospice this year for a special evening of remembrance.

For those who are unable to attend the event in person, a recording of the service will be available to view on ellenor's Facebook and YouTube channels from Saturday 14th December.

Whether your loved one was under ellenor’s care or not – everyone is welcome to join the service.

Our Lights of Love events will include a light trail throughout our new wellbeing centre and garden, a tribute film in our cinema room, short readings and live music. There will also be moments of reflection for your loved one, including lighting a candle to honour their memory.

Our 2024 event timings are:

Friday 6th December: 6pm - 8pm

Saturday 7th December: 3.30pm - 5.30pm

Saturday 7th December: 6pm - 8pm

These are ticketed events, so please ensure you have your email confirmation ready upon arrival.

If you would like to dedicate your loved one’s name(s) in this year's Lights of Love Service, you can do this when making a donation below, or by calling us on 01322 626509.

FAQs

Please find FAQs below. If you have any other questions about the Lights of Love service, or about making a dedication, please contact our Supporter Care Team on 01322 626 509 and we will be happy to help.

How many tickets can I book?

To ensure as many families as possible can join the in-person service, we are setting a maximum of 5 tickets per booking. The 5 tickets will include yourself as well as your family and or friends. Don't forget, any children will also need a ticket too.

Do I need to book, or can I just turn up on the night?

Booking is essential for the Lights of Love Service. Unfortunately, we will not be able to admit anyone who has not booked a ticket. Therefore, to avoid disappointment, we ask that you do not turn up without booking in advance.

When tickets sell out, we will have a Waiting List should any additional tickets become available. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please contact our Supporter Care Team on 01322 626 509.

Do I need to book for a child to attend?

Yes, you will need to book a ticket for every person joining you for the service, up to a maximum of 5 people per party. Please remember, we will only be able to admit in those who have registered for a ticket.

Tickets have sold out, how can I watch the service?

Unfortunately, we only have a limited number of tickets available for the service at the hospice. If you weren't able to secure tickets, you can still watch the service on ellenor's Facebook and YouTube channels from Saturday 14th December.

You can also contact our Supporter Care Team on 01322 626 509 to be added to our waiting list for tickets to the Lights of Love service. Then if any tickets become available, one of the team will contact you. Please note, our waiting list will be contacted on a first come first serve basis.

Will there be seating at the service?

To ensure that we can welcome as many guests to the service as possible, the service will be standing only. Please rest assured that should you need to sit down at any point, there will be chairs positioned around the hospice green - however, visibility of the service may be impacted from these seats.

Will the service be recorded?

Yes, we will be working with a professional film crew to film our Lights of Love service. This is to allow those unable to attend the hospice Lights of Love service to still watch the service at a convenient time. The service will be available to view on ellenor's Facebook and YouTube channels from Saturday 14th December.

Cameras will be set up around the hospice to capture the service, and the speakers. If you would like to be excluded from any filming, please inform a member of staff when you arrive at the service, and we will ask you to stand in a particular area to ensure that you are not captured on camera.

Will there be refreshments on the night?

Yes, there will be light refreshments available during the event including festive drinks, mince pies and biscuits.

Are dogs allowed into the hospice?

Unfortunately, only assistance dogs are permitted to enter the hospice. Therefore, we ask you to leave your furry friends at home. If you would particularly like your pet to watch the service with you, a recording of the service will be available to watch on ellenor's Facebook and YouTube channels from Saturday 14th December.

Will there be parking available?

3 hours of free parking will be available at Morrisons Car Park, situated a few minutes’ walk from the hospice.

There will be no parking available for guests in the hospice car park, as this is reserved for patients and visitors only.

You acknowledge that all visitors attend this service at their own risk and that ellenor is not liable for any injury or loss that may occur as a result of attendance.
