Celebrating Michelle, our CEO who has been with us a year!
It's hard to believe that a year has passed since I joined ellenor. This past year has been a profoundly fulfilling chapter in my career, and it has felt like a homecoming to return to my roots. My career began in the 1980’s as a cancer nurse, working tirelessly with marginalised communities. Returning to a hospice environment reminds me of those early days, where compassionate care was at the forefront of everything I did.
Over the past 12 months, I've had the privilege of meeting incredible people - our dedicated staff, volunteers, clients, and their families. Their passion for our mission is truly inspiring, and it’s amazing how much our services mean to those who need them. The warmth and commitment I’ve witnessed have been nothing short of amazing.
Of course, no journey is without its challenges. We’ve navigated a period of significant change, and there have been moments of hesitation. But uniting everyone to support these changes has been crucial to continuing our mission of care. Through it all, the strength and positivity of #Teamellenor have shone through. Together, we’ve embraced these changes, faced the challenges and emerged stronger. I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve achieved and the exciting direction we’re heading.
There’s still much work ahead as we strive to meet evolving needs, such as reaching out to our underrepresented communities, ensuring that local people know what we do and how to access our wonderfully rich range of services, completing our fabulous Wellbeing Centre and working with local providers and organisations to ensure that ellenor continues to deliver quality services now and for the future.
We are Stronger Together, working collaboratively with our amazing community, our local services, our commissioners and our generous donors. With the amazing #Teamellenor, I am confident we can achieve even greater things. Thank you for making me feel so welcome, for your hard work, and your unwavering commitment. I’m excited to continue this journey with you and see what the future holds for ellenor and the communities and people we support.
