ellenor’s Chief Executive to step down

Vikki Harding will be stepping down as CEO from her role at ellenor on 31 March 2022.

Vikki has worked at ellenor as part of the Executive Leadership Team since July 2018 when she joined as Director of Care. In April 2019, she served as Interim CEO and was appointed substantively to the CEO role in March 2020, successfully leading the organisation through challenging times including an organisation-wide restructure and the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Vikki has been a registered nurse for over 38 years and has a wealth of experience in clinical practice and leadership having previously been an Assistant Director at the North London NHS Foundation Trust, and a Nurse Consultant specialising in respiratory care of patients with lung diseases.

Roger Wedderburn-Day, Chair of Trustees comments:

“Vikki made an exceptional contribution to the success, growth and development of ellenor, and during the difficult and challenging period of Covid-19 has proactively led the charity and inspired staff and patients alike with her dedication and commitment.

We are very sorry to be losing Vikki as CEO of ellenor, but we are equally delighted that she will be staying on with us in a different part-time role.”

Vikki says:

“I am immensely proud in what we have achieved as a team during my time as CEO at ellenor. It is a much-loved organisation for the people of North Kent and Bexley and I have been fortunate to work with an extremely dedicated workforce who support and deliver such high-quality care to those living with life limiting conditions. I want to thank everyone at ellenor for their dedicated service throughout – but especially when facing the extraordinary pressures of the past two years. As with many people, I have reflected over the last two years and am now ready to replace a work-life balance with a home-life balance and spend more time with my family.

I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to remain at ellenor on a part-time basis as the Project Director for the new Capital Build Project and the ellenor’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Project which includes increasing the accessibility of our services to patients and their families and improving the Hospice building to ensure it is fit for the future.”

Vikki will continue in her role as CEO until the end of March and recruitment for a new CEO is underway.
