Volunteer Patient Transport Drivers

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Do you have a few hours to spare and a kind heart?

Join the ellenor family as a Volunteer Patient Transport Driver and play an essential role in helping our patients access the care and support they need.

Location: ellenor Northfleet and local community
Hours: Approximately 2 hours, as many days as you can spare
Times: Drop off times are 10:30am and 3pm for group activities. Therefore availability around these times is required.
Days: You can have a set day, or work on a more flexible basis, whatever you can spare.

Role

Provide a friendly, reliable transport service by picking up patients and bringing them to ellenor Hospice for Therapeutic Activity Groups.
Help make sure patients arrive by 10:30am and are safely returned home — without the need to stay during the activity itself.
You can drive your own vehicle, or, if you prefer, we'll provide full training to drive one of our company minibuses.
We're also looking for driver escorts to assist patients on and off the bus, making their journey as comfortable as possible.

Skills and Requirements:

A positive attitude and a passion for helping people are essential.
A full, clean driving license is required. If using your own vehicle, please be ready to provide proof of documents like MOT and insurance.
If you’d like to drive the minibus, we’ll provide training through KCC (with expenses covered). You just need flexibility to attend the sessions.
A DBS check will be necessary for this role, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our patients.
You’ll also need to complete some mandatory online training, but don’t worry, we’ll support you every step of the way!
