About the Garden:
This historic property dates back to at least 1706, with its first recorded tenant, John Burrow, a maltster. It is rumoured that Charles Dickens spent his honeymoon here in 1836.
By 1952, the house was in danger of demolition but was saved through its Grade II listing.
Liz and Peter, the current owners, took on the challenge of restoring both the house and its overgrown garden, which was covered in ivy, brambles, and weeds. Their ongoing project has been a labour of love, though their two lively Dalmatians have added to the adventure! Today, they are excited to share their beautifully revived garden with visitors.
