Gift Aid

Last year, ellenor was able to claim a staggering £124,000 in Gift Aid from generous donations given in support of our work caring for patients and families living with a life limiting illness.

Gift Aid is a scheme enabling registered charities to reclaim tax on a donation made by a UK taxpayer, effectively increasing the amount of their donation.

Every year, £560 million in Gift Aid goes unclaimed. That's a lot of care that could be provided to families in times of need.

From bucket collections to charity auctions, charities such as ellenor, are able to claim Gift Aid on donations no matter how big or small. 

Things to bear in mind about Gift Aid:

• It can only be claimed on donations made by an individual
• Donations from a couple, family or group are not eligible
• Businesses have their own system
• Some retired people can still claim Gift Aid
• Whilst you don't have to live here, you do need to be a UK taxpayer

All you need to do is fill in a form, so that ellenor can claim on any donation you have made within the last 4 years.

While daunting on the surface, the Gift Aid Declaration form merely confirms that you are a UK taxpayer along with your name and address.
