Did you know that gift aiding your donated items can generate an additional 25% in income for us?
Gift Aid is a government scheme which allows UK taxpayers to top up their charitable donations by 25% from the income tax they pay each year.
If we can sell your donated items and raise £100 then the government will give us an additional £25 which will help to provide care and support our patients and their families.
How to register
Registration is quick and simple and free. Every time you donate, ask any member of staff or volunteer when you next bring your things to us, they will be happy to help.
If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid can apply to the items you donate. If you say ‘Yes’ to Gift Aid, we can receive an additional 25% on the value of sold items from HMRC.
For more information, please read the following:
By signing up to Gift Aid, you are confirming that:
- You are a UK taxpayer and have paid an amount of income or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that ellenor reclaim on your donations in the appropriate tax year. This is currently 25p for every £1 you give.
- You wish ellenor to act as your agent in selling goods you have donated.
- You wish ellenor to claim tax on all donations you have made since 6th April 2006 and all donations thereafter.
- You are not acting as a business in selling your goods.
When you receive confirmation of your collection, a member of our team will take you through the process to confirm you wish to become a Gift Aid donor, and will be happy to answer any queries you may have.
In 2019, Gift Aid helped us raise over £100,000 in additional income.
