Morrisons Raise £5 million for Charity Partner

Charity partner Together for Short Lives and children’s hospices like ellenor.

Welcome news came today for children’s hospices like ellenor and families caring for a child with a life-limiting condition as Morrisons announced they have reached £5 million pounds in their fundraising efforts for charity partner Together for Short Lives.

Together for Short Lives is the leading UK charity for children’s palliative care, supporting children’s hospices like ellenor and families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition.

“We are honoured to be benefiting from this hugely successful national partnership." says ellenor Corporate Partnerships Manager, Jemma Kemp.

"The fundraising efforts demonstrated by the teams across our five partnered Morrisons stores have been incredible, and we continue to be wowed by their unwavering dedication to making this a purposeful partnership."

- Jemma Kemp, ellenor Corporate Partnerships Manager

"Engaging with the Morrisons teams has been an absolute pleasure as it provided them with first-hand experience of the profound impact their support has on our patients and their families”.

The partnership with Morrisons is raising vital funds for children’s hospices across the country and helping families make precious memories together. Together, they are also reaching out to those families across the UK who don’t know about the support they can access in their local community, and from Together for Short Lives.

Morrisons hopes to raise £10 million by October 2024 to help us be there for every family caring for a seriously ill child. Mum Samantha is immensely grateful for the support they’ve received over the years from ellenor.

Twelve year old Harry Woodgate, who has cerebral palsy and complex health needs receives specialised paediatric palliative care from ellenor. In the last six months, Tina has been their dedicated nurse, building a strong sense of trust between Harry and Samantha.

Harry’s mum Samantha says “We’ve got a real sense of trust – not just between her and Harry but between her and me, too. Sometimes you can really doubt yourself as a parent – yes, you trust your gut instinct when it comes to your kids, but when you’re dealing with children with complex health issues you do need reassurance that you’re doing the right thing.”

"Having someone like Tina to provide reassurance has been invaluable to me throughout our journey with hospice care, and I am grateful for ellenor’s support."
