ellenor is a charity and a specialist palliative care provider for adults and children in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, and for children across the London Borough of Bexley. The Organisation has In-patient, Community, Wellbeing and therapeutic services at Northfleet.

We are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant to join the hospice. You will be part of a skilled catering team, operating 365 days per year delivering high quality service to our patients, staff and visitors.

You must have experience in food preparation, cooking and cleaning. The role will require you to help prepare meals and snacks for our in-house café, with the opportunity to help develop new menu options to accommodate the requirements of the diverse community we serve.

Essential requirements:

Do you have the skills to provide therapeutic support during times of life-limiting illness, grief, and bereavement? Are you ready to lead and develop our play therapy service, ensuring we provide the best possible service to those facing profound challenges?

About the role:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Play Therapist to join our team, dedicated to supporting children and their families through some of the most challenging experiences of their lives, including but not limited to bereaved children and children with life-limiting conditions. In this role, you’ll lead the development and delivery of our play therapy services, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care. Your work will include offering Play Therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, and planning and facilitating our GEMS days, a bereavement support group designed specifically for children.

We are seeking a skilled, compassionate Registered Children's Nurse with experience in community nursing, oncology, complex care, and children’s palliative care to join our dedicated children’s community palliative care team.

About the role:

This position is primarily Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, including bank holidays. There may be occasional 24/7 on-call duties to provide end-of-life care at home.

  • Holistic nursing assessment and management of a patient caseload

Essential requirements:

  • First Level Registered Children’s Nurse with at least 2 years experience in Palliative Care, Oncology or a related specialty
  • Administration of intravenous medications qualification, preferably with experience in the use of CVADs
  • A full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
  • Experience working proactively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to empathise with families and communicate sensitively and compassionately.

Operational Lead Children’s Service

Salary: £51,230 - £54,352 (Depending upon experience)

We seek a dynamic, compassionate Operational Lead to enhance our Children’s Service. Candidates should be registered Children’s Nurses with expertise in Oncology, Complex Care, and Palliative Care, plus experience managing and developing services. Strong clinical and communication skills and a passion for exceptional care are essential.

About the role:

As the Operational Lead you will manage and co-ordinate the service, whilst also participating in direct patient care. You will work closely with other providers across Kent and as part of CHaL (Childrens Hospices across London) in developing and designing services that provide the highest standard of care and support.

Our Children’s team are part of something special, they provide specialist care & support to babies, children and young people with end of life care and oncology needs; supporting families in their own homes to ensure they enjoy special moments together . The children and young people we care for all have life limiting or life-threatening conditions and we are proud to offer a range of services to support the whole family.  This includes play and music therapy and pre and post bereavement support. The role is very varied and requires a good understanding of the complex emotional and physical needs of the children and families as well as experience of managing a team.

Essential requirements:

  • First Level Registered Children’s Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Degree in palliative care or relevant clinical speciality.
  • Teaching / mentorship qualification.
  • Advanced Communication Skills certificate or willingness to undertake
  • Administration of intravenous medications qualification, preferably with experience in the use of Central venouis Access Devices (CVADs.)

We are looking for an experienced Registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years post registration with a strong clinical background in palliative/cancer care. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and family support across the care directorate.

Role:

You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and family support across the care directorate. Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • To ensure the delivery of high-quality specialist palliative nursing care.
  • Supervise and participate in the delivery of evidence-based nursing care.
  • To lead in the planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans for the patient and their family taking into account their physical, social and spiritual needs in all care settings.
  • To work proactively to support patients who wished to be cared for at home or until an Inpatient bed becomes available. Work closely with the ward and duty nurse to facilitate effective admission and discharge planning.

Essential requirements:

  • At least two years post RN qualification experience within a relevant specialist field
  • Working towards post–registration qualification in Palliative Care
  • Willingness to work towards a Diploma / Degree
  • Mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards
  • Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development
  • In this position, it is necessary to have a full driving licence and access to a car as you will be required to travel between locations.
