ellenor is a hospice charity in Gravesend providing palliative and end-of-life care within the local community. At ellenor, we value inclusivity and focus on providing high-quality services with compassion and care.

We have a fantastic opportunity for business professionals to join ellenor at the Board level to influence our strategic direction and support our developments. We are seeking individuals who have experience and expertise in the following sectors Health and Social Care, Marketing & Income Generation, Senior Level Management, AI, IT, Finance, Accounting, Property, Legal, Retail, HR and Governance.

As a Trustee, you will be responsible for the governance and strategy of ellenor, its financial health and the probity of its activities under ellenor’s Articles of Association.

Whether you are an experienced Trustee or want to take your first step at Board level, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Salary: £85,000 per annum pro rata

Contract: Fixed Term Contract for 6 months

Location: Gravesend, DA11 7HQ

Hours:  37.5 per week

ellenor is recognised as the local expert in caring for people with palliative care needs at end-of-life for adults and children living in North Kent and Bexley, covering a population of around 250,000. Each year, it costs £7 million to care for and support patients and their families with £4.9m of funds raised through the generosity of local supporters.

We are looking for an Interim CEO whilst we recruit for the permanent position.  We are seeking an exceptional Chief Executive with the drive and passion to provide stability, strategic leadership and management across the organisation, ensuring that ellenor is a modern, forward-thinking, resilient organisation and a leader in Hospice palliative and end-of-life care. Accountable to the Chair and Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of a strategy which delivers the vision, purpose and values of ellenor.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • You will provide inspirational leadership across the organisation, lead and encourage an inclusive, open and transparent culture and inspire and encourage the development of fresh ideas, continuously moving the organisation forward.
  • You will ensure ellenor has the appropriate standards, controls, systems and processes in place and that they are regularly evaluated to meet the legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.
  • You will have overall responsibility for financial sustainability, bring an understanding of income generation and encourage a fundraising ethos across the organisation with staff, patients, and families at the heart of everything you do.

Essential requirements of the role include:

  • You will be an exceptional leader with a proven track record of leading change at a senior level through collaboration and positive working relationships and must be able to empower, support and encourage people to effectively deliver as a team across the organisation to build an environment that attracts, retains, and motivates a top-quality and effective workforce.

Salary:  £25,959 (pro-rata)

Hours: Part-time - 30 hours per week (21 month fixed term contract)

Location:  Gravesend DA11 7HQ and remote working.

 

 

ellenor is a charity and a specialist palliative care provider for adults and children in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, and for children across the London Borough of Bexley.  The Organisation has In-patient, Community, Wellbeing and therapeutic services at Northfleet.

Join us as Project Co-Ordinator to help launch an exciting art trail across North Kent for a great cause! Working with our Project Manager, you’ll deliver our first-ever Wild in Art sculpture trail, set for Summer 2026. Collaborate with artists and stakeholders to bring this inspiring project to life, raising vital funds and awareness for the hospice.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage the artists’ engagement including key dates for design submissions, workshops and sculpture deadlines.
  • Provide administrative support to the Project Manager to deliver the project plan, timelines, income and expenditure budget etc.
  • Assist in planning, developing and delivering public engagement events, fundraising activities and the final Farewell Auction.
  • Be a key point of contact for all project enquiries to deliver all aspects of the project.
  • Collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure highest levels of engagement and project delivery.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in assisting with the planning and delivery of large-scale impactful events.
  • Proven experience in project co-ordination.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of representing the organisation at all levels.
  • Creative and resilient approach to problem solving/issue resolution – using creative flair to produce pro-active solutions to challenges.
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driving license with business insurance.
