ellenor is a charity that provides hospice care to people of all ages living in Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and Bexley (Children only). To help us provide this specialist hospice care and support, we need amazing people.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for business professionals to join ellenor at Board level to influence our strategic direction and support our developments. We are seeking an individual with a legal background with expertise in Charity Law.

 

As a Trustee you will be responsible for the governance and strategy of ellenor, its financial health and the probity of its activities in accordance with ellenor’s Articles of Association.

HR Administrator

HR Administrator

Salary: £24,232 – £25,334(depending upon experience)

Location: Gravesend, DA11 7HQ

Hours:  37.5 hours per week

 We are seeking an experienced HR administrator with excellent organisation, communication and administration skills to join our small HR team.

In this role you will deliver efficient, high quality, effective and professional support to our team and the wider organisation in all aspects of a colleague’s employment.

Working as the Administrator you will be able to manage multiple priorities and sources of data and will support employment queries, compliance as well as recruitment activity across the organisation.

Essential requirements

You will have previous experience working in HR, Payroll, or Recruitment.

You will also be a great communicator, can prioritise tasks, work under pressure with good attention to detail, and have a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

  • Be a key member of the HR team in managing and resolving queries from colleagues to successful conclusion in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and execute administrative processes to support compliance, recruitment and employment life cycle events
  • Support processes, procedures and systems for recruitment and onboarding, which ensure compliance with ellenor policies and statutory requirements.
  • Collect business requirements and ensure alignment between the system and HR/payroll needs.
  • Process and monitor new starter security clearance checks
  • Liaise with internal teams to manage expectations on start dates
  • Ensure internal compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with HR legislation, trends, and best practices.
  • Identify and implement improvements to HR processes and systems.

About you:

  • Understanding of HRIS and HR requirements.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security requirements in relation to HR systems.
  • Understanding of HR data types and payroll processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot system issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Flexibank Housekeeping Assistant

Flexibank Housekeeping Assistant 

Salary: £12.21 per hour

Hours: Flexibank

(Weekday hours, with flexibility)

Location: Hospice, ellenor, Coldharbour Road, DA11 7HQ

 

ellenor is seeking a dedicated, caring and experienced Housekeeping Assistant to join the hospice. You will be part of a housekeeping team, operating 365 days per year delivering a high quality service to our patients, staff and visitors. Our housekeeping team plays a vital role in creating a warm, dignified atmosphere for patients and their families. Every detail matters, including the cleanliness and comfort of our spaces.

As a housekeeper, you’ll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across patient rooms, communal areas, and clinical spaces.  You’ll work closely with our care team to ensure high standards of hygiene and infection control, while respecting the privacy and emotional needs of those we serve. 

We are looking for an applicant with the passion and drive to deliver a housekeeping service of the very highest standards. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work alone but also as part of a busy team.

This is a weekday role with the possibility of having to work at weekends depending on operational needs, therefore you must be flexible.

The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Carry out cleaning duties in patient rooms, communal areas, and staff facilities.

Essential requirements:

  • Proven experience in housekeeping or working in a housekeeping environment.

Salary: £14,539.20 per annum

Do you hold a clean Full UK driving licence, with category C1, and looking for a new opportunity?

 

We’re looking for friendly, reliable drivers to join our team. You’ll play a vital role in collecting and delivering donations, furniture, and goods across our shops and warehouse — helping us raise vital funds for the care we provide. This is a practical, hands-on role involving heavy lifting, teamwork, and excellent customer service.

 

ellenor is a hospice charity in Gravesend providing palliative and end-of-life care within the local community. At ellenor, we value inclusivity and focus on providing high-quality services with compassion and care.  Our growing network of 10 shops is supported by our local community to donate goods and materials.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working closely with the Distribution team to collect and deliver goods across multiple sites
  • Handling stock transfers between our warehouse and shops
  • Collecting eBay items and paperwork from shops for processing
  • Supporting shops with rubbish collection and recycling where needed
  • Delivering daily sandwiches from the Hospice to Darent Vally Hospital
  • Providing cover for our second van during staff leave or sickness, including collections and deliveries
  • Ensuring safe loading, lifting, and moving of items in line with health and safety guidance
  • Representing the charity with professionalism and care, offering great customer service in every interaction

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Due to Insurance purposes, applicants must be over the age of 25
  • Hold a clean Full UK driving license for a minimum of two years with category C1
  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy/bulky items
  • Experience with driving a commercial vehicle in a multi-drop role or delivery service
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage own workload

Salary: £26,761 (pro rata)

Assistant Manager (Dartford Priory Centre)

Salary: £14,324.40 per annum

Location: Dartford Priory Centre

Hours: 22.5 Hours per week, Working 3 days per week, Monday to Sunday

 

Do you have great customer service, a friendly and approachable manner and retail management experience? If so, we are looking for someone just like you!

 

As an Assistant Manager, you will have a background in retail and experience in the retail environment. You will work alongside the Shop Manager to manage staff and volunteers, drive sales to achieve strategic objectives and targets as well as assist in recruitment, training and cash management.

  • Oversee retail property management matters, ensuring compliance and maintenance of property databases

 

Essential requirements of the role include:

 

  • Proven experience in managing, supporting and resourcing a team through setting and monitoring objectives and targets
  • Proven experience in managing budgets
  • A good understanding of retail management and the challenges of working within the voluntary sector
