Salary: £26,761 – 30,094 Pro-rata

(Depending upon experience)

Hours:  22.5 hours per week 

Location: ellenor Hospice, Gravesend DA11 7HQ and Hybrid Working

If so, this could be the role for you!

We are currently seeking a Volunteer Co-Ordinator to join our team at ellenor.  Volunteers play a pivotal role in supporting every aspect of our work with hundreds of individuals generously volunteering their time, skills and passion.  We are seeking a positive and enthusiastic individual with the ability to build connections with a diverse range of people through exceptional interpersonal skills and empathy.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop a volunteering strategy to support us in our aim to meet ellenor’s increasing needs.
  • Actively working with teams to identify needs and create roles to market and advertise appropriately.
  • Be the first point of contact for volunteering enquiries and applications, ensuring a seamless onboarding process.
  • Support Managers with co-ordinating opportunities within their directorate.
  • Deliver volunteer training and inductions.
  • Work collaboratively to deliver a calendar of activities for volunteers to engage in.

Essential requirements of the role include:

  • Top of Form
  • As an experienced volunteer co-ordinator, you will have exemplary interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of people and be able to quickly develop positive and trustworthy relationships.
  • You’ll be a confident and credible communicator with a positive attitude and experience of working within a sensitive environment.
  • A confident user of Microsoft products and databases with demonstrable skills in analysing and interpreting information, producing reports and an excellent attention to detail.
  • You will have experience of supporting and coaching others with prompt and effective advice on volunteer supervision and performance management. You should also be committed to your own continuous personal and professional development.

Van Driver

Salary: £24,232 per annum

Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Sunday

Location: Unit 11, Canal Road, Gravesend, Kent, DA12 2PA

 

Do you hold a clean Full UK driving licence, with category C1, and looking for a new opportunity?

 

We are looking for friendly drivers who are proud to deliver outstanding customer service on behalf of our charity. The role will include heavy lifting and moving and transporting furniture or goods from various locations to our retail sites and warehouse with our company van.

 

ellenor is a hospice charity in Gravesend providing palliative and end-of-life care within the local community. At ellenor, we value inclusivity and focus on providing high-quality services with compassion and care.  Our growing network of 10 shops is supported by our local community to donate goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Collaborate with the Distribution team to collect and distribute goods to multiple sites and locations
  • Safely moving furniture and heavy goods in and out of customer premises, and ellenor retail sites, taking care to cause no damage or injury
  • Follow health and safety guidance when lifting, transporting and moving stock between locations and in and out of the company vehicle
  • Ensure you are delivering as per the strategic plan and in line with company policies and procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times with the capability to navigate sensitive situations being mindful of the circumstances at all times

 

Essential requirements:

  • Due to Insurance purposes, applicants must be over the age of 25
  • Hold a clean Full UK driving license for a minimum of two years with category C1
  • To pass a Standard DBS check
  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy/bulky items
  • Experience with driving a commercial vehicle in a multi-drop role or delivery service
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage own workload

 Ensure the highest possible standard of care for patients and supporting relatives   during their care.

  • Participating in the assessment and provision of care needs for patients.
  • Ensuring all care is documented correctly electronically, in line with mandatory and legal requirements.
  • Acting as part of the team alongside Health Care Assistants and the medical team to deliver appropriate care.
  • Undertake any additional duties considered to fall within the position of a Staff nurse as directed by the Ward Sister/Operational Lead.

Essential requirements of the role include:

Registered Nurse with up-to-date registration and revalidation.

  • Educated or working towards a degree or evidence of relevant experience.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, times and days of the week, including night shifts.
  • Willing to undertake further professional training/qualifications.

Data Scientist

Data Scientist (6 months Contract) 

 

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (dependant on experience)

Are you passionate about turning data into powerful insights that lead to impactful improvements? We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Data Scientist to join our dynamic and purpose-driven team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in using the power of data to inform strategy, shape our services, and enhance the care we deliver across our organisation. 

As a Data Scientist, you will work closely in partnership with stakeholders’ internal teams and external partners to analyse how data is modelled and collected, understanding gaps, and making recommendations for improvement.  Process and interpret data that reflects both operational efficiency and service outcomes. You will also help design, develop, and implement data principles and standards across the organisation. 

Your work will directly support decision-making at all levels, enabling us to identify trends, optimise performance, and drive innovation in the way we operate and deliver care. 

You will need to be enthusiastic, a logical thinker and have a drive to succeed! 

Key Responsibilities of the role include: 

 

  • Collect and analyse data from various sources to identify trends and insights. Collaborate with different departments to understand their data needs and provide solutions. 
  • Create reports and dashboards to present findings to management. 
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity. 
  • Assist in the development of strategies to improve patient care and operational efficiency. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives using analysed data. 
  • Bridge the gap between data and decision-makers. 
  • Build recurring reports and automate them whenever possible. 
  • Translate technical findings into data insights. Explain analytical findings in a compelling, digestible format to non-technical audiences. 

Essential requirements of the role include: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  1. At least 2+ years’ experience as a Data Analyst, Data Architect and project management or in a similar role. 
  1. Excellent IT skills including fluency with all Microsoft packages, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint. 
  1. Experience in data manipulation, data cleaning and preparation 
  1. Experience in data analysis, interpretation and data modelling 
  1. Proficiency in data analysis & visualisation tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau or Power BI). 
  1. Ability to meet project deadlines.  
  1. Strong track record of problem-solving ability and troubleshooting skills.  
  1. Evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Clearly communicates technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.  
  1. Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also enjoying collaboration and contributing as a team player.  
  1. Experience of presenting research findings to conferences or other large groups. 
  1. Experience in the healthcare sector is an advantage but not necessary. 
  1. Compassionate and empathetic, understanding the sensitive nature of hospice care. 
  1. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy. 
  1. Proactive and innovative, with a drive to improve processes and outcomes. 

This role is key in helping the hospice use data to improve compassionate and effective care. The postholder must approach their work with sensitivity, discretion, and respect for the nature of the hospice setting.

Assistant Manager (Pickford Lane)

Salary: £14,324.40 per annum

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday

Location: Pickford Lane, Bexleyheath, DA7 4QU

 

Do you have great customer service, a friendly and approachable manner and retail experience? If so, we are looking for someone just like you!

 

As an Assistant Shop Manager, you will have a background in retail and experience in the retail environment. You will work alongside the shop manager to manage staff and volunteers, drive sales to achieve targets and assist in recruitment, training, cash management and managing volunteers.

  • Ensuring the recruitment and continual development of staff and volunteers
  • Being aware of communications and events at ellenor and acting as an ambassador for the charity within the community

 

Essential requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing, supporting and resourcing team objectives set from ellenor
  • Proven experience in managing and setting budgets
  • A good understanding of retail management and the challenges of working within the voluntary sector
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good organisation and planning skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workload.
