Children

The Twilight Walk is a great event for the whole family to take part in. We offer an under-16 concession for our younger walkers.

There are a few safety point to consider ahead of the event:

  • Under 16s are not permitted to take part in the walk without an accompanying adult.
  • Please check that mobiles phones are fully charged and that they have the correct contact details they need to get hold of you.
  • There will be hundreds of walkers all wearing similar clothing.
Therefore, it is essential that children should be accompanied at all times by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
  • Collect one of our wristbands to write your contact number on for younger walkers. These are available from our team on the night by the entrance, at registration, and at various points around the track.

COVID-19

Our event will comply with all current government COVID-19 restrictions.

There may be some people taking part in our walk, living with life limiting illness so it is important that we take some additional measures:

  • If you have a cough, high temperature or other COVID-19 symptoms, you must not attend. Similarly, you should not attend if you have had any of these symptoms within the previous 14 days.
  • Hand sanitisers will be available around for your use. You may want to consider bringing your own for when you are out on the route.
  • Anti-bacterial wipes will be available for use on our Selfie Station for you to wipe down the props.
  • Our event takes place outdoors. We have one well ventilated marquee area for T-shirt collections and on the night registration.
  • You can register using cash, but where possible we would prefer you to pay using cards.
  • To protect vulnerable participants, we politely ask you to consider wearing face masks in crowded areas, including the start line.
  • There will be reminders dotted around about giving each other the space.

How much is it?

Adults: £20

Under 16s: £10

Marshalls

Marshals play a very important role during the Twilight Walk and can help you and your group in a number of different ways:

  • Marshals will be visible throughout the night and along various points of the route.

  • They will be stationed at major crossing points.

  • They are a safe location for young people or lost team members to wait for you to find them.  Our marshals will call us and we will be able to update you on their location.

  • Please go directly to the nearest Marshall if you encounter any issues, problems, or emergencies.

Medals

Congratulations! You have completed ellenor's Sponsored Twilight Walk and now it's time to collect your medal.

Please remember to collect your medal after you have crossed the finish line.

Photography

Our photographers will be out and about during the event taking photos and videos.

These will be used for next year's event promotion, as well as being added to a Facebook album as soon as we can after the event.

We'd love to see your photos too! We have a Facebook Group called Fundraising with ellenor Hospice which you can join and add your photos.

Please have a chat with one of the event team on the night if you have any questions.

Separated from Your Group

If you get separated during the walk, please call 01322 626 506

The registration area can be used as a meeting point. Team members there will be able to help you if you have been separated from your group. Please make sure that younger walkers know that this is a safe location.

There are marshals along our route who will also be a safe location for your young people to wait for you to come to them.  Our marshals will call us and we will be able to update you on the location of your younger walker.

Sponsorship

Recommended Sponsorship: £50

We suggest a recommended sponsorship to raise vital funds needed to run ellenor - every penny you raise will be gratefully received. We aim to raise £75,000 from this event to pay for the care and support we give to families living with life limiting illness.

Paying in Sponsorship money on the night:

There will be an area in our marquee where you will be able to drop off any cash or cheques you have received in sponsorship of your walk.

Setting up a Just Giving page:
We're so grateful to everyone who has set up their Just Giving pages.

It's not too late to set up a page and is an easy way to ask family, friends and your network to support you.

Tickets

Your 2022 T-shirt is your ticket to Twilight Walk 2022!

You will not need to do anything else when you arrive, our friendly events team will be on hand when you arrive.

T-Shirts & Head Boppers

T-shirt collection information will be sent out to all our participants nearer to the event date.

You will also be able to purchase your flashing headwear, when collecting your t-shirt on a first come first serve basis.

If it has not been possible for you to collect your T-shirts you will be able to collect them on the night. Please allow some extra time to do this.

There is space for you to write messages on the back of your T-shirt. Many people taking part in this walk do it in memory of a loved one. If you haven't had the chance to write your messages on the back of your T-shirts, there will be a dedicated space in the marquee with permanent markers for you to use.
