We provide hospice care to people of all ages in their place of choice. Our care includes,
pain and symptom relief, palliative care, end of life care, respite, bereavement support and emotional and spiritual care.
Without the commitment and professionalism of our staff, we wouldn’t be able to provide the full range of much needed services.

ellenor is the provider of all-encompassing hospice care for both adults and children living in North Kent and Bexley.

Our services for adults include Inpatient ward, Living Well programme, Hospice at Home, Care Home Support Team and range of Wellbeing services, including Therapies. For children in Dartford Gravesham and Swanley we provide clinical nursing support working with children’s families to provide care at their place of choice, which is often their own home. This means the children can receive care in familiar surroundings. In addition for Children in Dartford Gravesham Swanley and Bexley we provide respite and wellbeing services which include, Play therapy, Music Therapy, Counselling, Bereavement support to mention just a few. 

Our strategic aims recognise our role in leading the development of services to the wider community for patients with life limiting conditions for both palliative care and at the end of life, and we see an increasing role in education and training and as a coordinator for providing the best possible palliative care to more people and families.

An exciting opportunity for experienced and motivated doctors to join our Consultant led multidisciplinary team. We are looking for experienced doctors capable of delivering high quality patient care to our adult patients with full GMC registration, 4 years full time postgraduate training including at least 2 years in a relevant speciality. You will need to be enthusiastic about delivering the highest quality palliative care, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a flexible adaptable approach. Involvement in teaching and audit / research is required, along with participation in the on-call and weekend rota.

Support with professional development will be provided as appropriate, as well as regular clinical supervision.

NHS Pension scheme members can transfer in their pension.

Senior Physiotherapist

Salary: £34,939 to £39,324 (pro rata and depending on experience)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Catering Assistant

Cook/Catering Assistant

Hours: 12 hours per week

Weekend Days: 8am-2pm

Salary:  £8.91 per hour   

ellenor is looking for an experienced Cook/Catering Assistant to join the hospice. You will be part of a skilled Catering Team, operating 365 day per year providing a high quality service to our patients, staff and visitors.

It is desirable that any successful candidate should either hold a City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery.

Good wholesome food is fundamental to providing quality end-of-life care, and we are looking for an applicant with the passion and drive to deliver a catering service of the very highest standard.

Duties will include food preparation, cooking, cleaning, liaising with customers, staff and most importantly with patients directly regarding meal requirements. You will also assist in preparing meals & snacks for our in-house café, with the opportunity to help develop new menu options that accommodate the requirements of a diverse population.

You should have a “can do attitude”, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work alone but also as part of a busy team.

Operational Lead Children's Community Services

Operational Lead Children's Community Services 

Salary: Starting at £45,991 pro rata depending on experience

Hours: 37.5 hour per week

 

We’re recruiting for a dynamic, innovative and compassionate Operational Lead to enhance our Children’s Hospice at Home team. Ideally you will be an experienced Registered Children’s Nurse with knowledge and experience of Oncology, Complex Care and Children’s Palliative Care. You will have excellent clinical skills and be passionate about delivering the highest quality care to children, young people and their families.

 Rated as Outstanding by CQC, ellenor provides hospice care for adults and children living in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley and Bexley.

Our Children’s team are part of something special, they provide specialist care & support to babies, children and young people with end of life care and oncology needs; supporting families in their own homes to ensure they  enjoy special moments together .

The children and young people we care for all have life limiting or life threatening conditions and we are proud to offer a range of services to support the whole family.  This includes play and music therapy and pre and post bereavement support. The role is very varied and requires a good understanding of the complex emotional and physical needs of the children and families.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide operational leadership & management for the Children’s Service, including respite, oncology, palliative and transition care
  • Ensure the care & support is equitable, professional & of an excellent standard
  • Work at an advanced level to ensure that each patient receives care to meet their individual needs
  • To support the Deputy Director of Care with service development within the Children’s Service
  • To work with the children’s nurses to support their development, ensuring that all relevant competency frameworks are achieved.
  • Work closely with other operational leads within the Care Directorate, to ensure the effective management of clinical activity & resources
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team - develop services that are people-focused & will ensure patients receive a service that fully meets their needs and their families
  • Work closely with local children’s services, GP’s, acute & community providers, in a way that supports integrated working
