Who's the course for?
Students aged 16-19 who are interested in exploring a career in care.

Course Description
This course will provide a valuable accredited work experience placement and is an ideal introduction for young people aged 16-19 who wish to explore a career in care. 
Students will be expected to complete a workbook daily during the 5 day course. Students will have a variety of experiences including facilitated patient contact.. Successful completion will give you the following nationally recognised qualifications:
QCF level 2 award in Understanding how to work in end of Life Care (3 credits).
You will get the chance to meet healthcare professionals working in the hospice setting. You will have the opportunity to talk to patients and their carers. Throughout your experience, you will be supported by highly experienced specialist facilitators.  Applicants will be interviewed for their suitability prior to the offer of a place. Places are limited to 12 students per course. Early application is recommended.

  • Gain an introduction to Adult Social Care & End of Life Care
  • Explore the skills and attitudes needed for a career in care
  • Gain team working, task management, employability and personal effectiveness skills
