Senior Occupational Therapist
37.5 hours per week
Salary £27,825-£34,221 pro rata
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our hospice multi-disciplinary team.
ellenor is a charity which has been offering the best care and support to families facing terminal illness in Kent for over 30 years. On average 83% of those under our care are able to die surrounded by their loved ones in a place of their choosing. We are the provider of all-encompassing hospice care for both adults and children living in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, West Kent and Bexley. Our services include adult In-patient and Day Therapy at the Hospice in Northfleet, and 24 hour Hospice at Home for all ages.
Responsible for the delivery of a high quality occupational therapy service; providing specialist assessment, treatment and care to people with life limiting illness. You’ll be working across our in-patient unit, living well day service and community settings with both adults and children, whilst contributing to the development of our outpatient services.
Working collaboratively as part of a highly specialist multi-disciplinary team you’ll be providing holistic centred care to patients with complex palliative care needs, offering symptom control, rehabilitation, discharge planning with an emphasis on quality of life. A team player, you’ll be committed to providing excellent quality care to those with and affected by life limiting illness.
You will need to have a broad base of experience working in acute and/or community settings with adults and older people. You will also need to have good work load management skills, sound clinical assessment skills and able to deliver specialist OT interventions eg. Fatigue management to patients and carers through individual and group sessions.
Post will be subject to Enhanced DBS clearance. Support with professional development will be provided. An employer contributory pension scheme is available, and NHS Pension Scheme members can transfer in their pension.
